Thank God I found CPA. I often wonder if the guilt and isolation that can occur without an adequate support system could be the reason that many recovering people do relapse over this issue. There are also other things I need to do to keep my pain at a manageable level, such as exercise, swimming, yoga, massage, and physical therapy. I must also be aware of what not to do, such as heavy lifting, bending twisting and just plain over doing it. I still sometimes consider medication to be a necessary evil. It is one of the many challenges of living with chronic pain.
