Seven Years Ago, there was a move to save The EARTH AT WHATEVER THE COST!!! Maybe some may think that ONE HOUR can do nothing to make a change. But when the WORLD CUTS HER LIGHTS OUT FOR ONE HOUR, it makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD!!! Just ONE HOUR is all is being ASKED of EVERYONE to cut The POWER FOR AN HOUR and GIVE BACK TO THE EARTH.
So many COUNTRIES are involved in this Cause NOW, and that alone Speaks Volumes. We THANK THEM and YOU for Your Involvement in this EARTHLY CAUSE.
Listed below are just a few of the people and countries involved and other things they PLEDGE to do to Help in this NOTEWORTHY CAUSE;
More than one thousand attractions were shut down as part of Earth Hour, including the Empire State Building, the Bosphorus Bridge, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Sphinx and the Acropolis. Also, the Burj Khalifa, with 828 meters the tallest building in the world, this year blacked out. Earth Hour was supported by numerous celebrities support: Richard Branson, Chris Martin, Li Bingbing, Edward Norton, Giorgio Armani, Miranda Kerr, Cate Blanchett, Pocoyo , Wasim Akram, Natalie Imbruglia, Pedro Almodóvar, Verne Troyer, Francesco Totti, Giselle Bundchen, Desmond Tutu, Ban Ki-moon, Desmond Tutu, Aston Kutcher, Demi Moore, Yoko Ono, and Kylie Minogue. image: Big Ben, London2013 reached Earth Hour movement that 1.5 million trees in Botswana and Uganda are planted. In Russia were marine protected areas established and also the forest protection will be strengthened. In the United States exchanged 35,000 Scouts and Guides more than 130,000 bulbs of energy-saving lamps.
In Austria this year for all the main cities for 23 March pledged to turn off their landmark: in Innsbruck, the Golden Roof, in Bregenz , Martin Sturm, in St. Pölten City Hall and the Municipal Museum, in Graz, the clock tower and castle hill, in Klagenfurt, the dragon; in Linzat the Ars Electronica Center and the Museum of Modern Art, in Eisenstadt , the Esterházy Palace and Martin Barracks, in Salzburg Hohensalzburg Fortress, the old churches, monuments, Fountain and the Mozart monument in Vienna , the facade of Schönbrunn Palace with Gloriette, the Belvedere Palace, the Arsenal tower and 14 luxury hotels in Vienna. Austrian President Heinz Fischer , Federal Chancellor Faymann and several federal ministers support the Earth Hour this year.
Many other Events in other Parts of the World, including the one’s mentioned above are just the beginning. So if you feel that you can not get involved with all the other things this Special Day Brings to Us and Our Children’s Future. Then PLEASE, TURN OFF YOUR LIGHTS FOR ONE HOUR!!! That alone SHOWS YOU CARE, and You did Something rather than Nothing.
